NASA astronaut Jeff Williams - Orange Systems’ special guest at InspiratiON Session #11

Over 250 participants from the local tech community, including leaders, professionals, and students in IT, attended the 11th edition of InspiratiON Session, organized by Orange Systems in Chișinău. The event featured a special guest: NASA astronaut and retired Colonel, Jeff Williams.

Under the theme “From Space to Tech: Leadership Lessons from NASA Astronaut Jeff Williams,” the event fostered a conversation about leadership, trust, discipline, and performance in environments where every decision matters.

Having spent 534 days in space, Jeff Williams shared lessons learned in some of the most complex situations imaginable. He spoke about responsibility, clarity in decision-making, team strength, and the role of technology in achieving excellence.

Tonight was truly inspiring. I was especially impressed by the enthusiasm of the audience and the energy in the room. There’s a genuine interest in space exploration, and events like this help us better understand where we stand and how each of us can contribute to the good of the community and society. Leadership is about influence, and the most valuable influence is one that brings people together and helps them create something meaningful for others. I was deeply touched by the hospitality I encountered here. Moldova has wonderful people, a rich culture, and a fascinating history. I sincerely hope this isn’t the last time I visit.

Organized by Orange Systems, InspiratiON Session continues to bring international experiences and perspectives to the local IT and tech community. The event is part of Orange Systems’ ongoing efforts to support the development of Moldova’s tech ecosystem and to create spaces for learning, dialogue, and connection among the new generation of professionals.

The #11 edition featured an experience inspired by space missions, including interactive zones, an exhibition of photographs taken by Jeff Williams from the International Space Station, dedicated interaction areas, and special activations for participants.

Attendees had the opportunity to network, ask questions to the guest, and interact with zones prepared by organizers throughout the event.

This was the most inspiring InspiratiON Session so far. With each edition, we see growing interest in this format, and this time, the enthusiasm was even stronger thanks to the topic and the presence of our special guest, Jeff Williams. I also believe this interest stems from the fact that InspiratiON Session has developed its own identity—recognized, anticipated, and appreciated by the community. For us, this is a strong motivation to elevate the concept, reinvent it with each edition, and contribute to the growth of Moldova’s tech community through such initiatives.
